Since 1989, the African American Children's Theatre has rallied youth around a simple idea: Come, experience the joy of theatre and magically transform into students who excel, young people who become our future leaders, and good-caring citizens. What began as a one-time musical theatre production by a group of excited young people has turned into an enduring Milwaukee treasure. Annual productions and an ongoing after-school theatre training academy equip girls and boys with discipline, dedication, commitment, and teamwork, Valuable skills needed to assume future community and personal roles and responsibilities. AACT provides local participating company members the privilege to work in collaboration with professional artists, creating, producing, and performing standard and original musical theatre productions that explore culture and history.
